Today I worked more on my word guessing game. The main goal today was to compare user guesses with the answer word and display that. I did this by splitting both words into characters and comparing the characters. If both words have the same character in the same place the user’s letter turns green, and if both have the character but they are in different places the user’s letter turns yellow. I also made it so the user can’t enter a word longer or shorter than 5 characters.
Tomorrow I plan to code the win-lose conditions and a replay button. So far I’m using a mix of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. HTML and CSS create what the user sees, and I use PHP to access the database and JavaScript to check the letters against each other.
